Directions: From the traffic light at the west end of AR62/412 (bypass) in Mountain Home, take 62W to Yellville. Continue into Yellville passing County Court House, through city of Yellville until you get to halfway up the hill. Your destination is on the right.
Dorothy was born in Georgetown, TX and in 1941, two weeks after the bombing of Pearl Harbor. Her school education was in Texas, California, and Missouri. After traveling for 20 years with her husband, Bobby, who was in the Army, they retired to the beautiful Ozarks. Other than books, books, and more books, Dorothy took a writing course with the Long Ridge Writers Group from West Redding, CT, art classes from ICS School of Art, Master Art Course, studied with art teacher Jo Rowell for many years, and North Arkansas College in Harrison woodcarving classes from Master Carver Jack Ryan. She is a Master Crochet Volunteer and a Master Sewer Volunteer after a course with the AR EHC. For the past several years, Dorothy has been teaching at the North Arkansas College EDU-CE. More recently, she has begun teaching at the Arkansas Craft School in Mountain View, AR. Teaching is a way she likes to open her time sharing her knowledge and always learning new things. She does woodcarving, wood burning, quilting, crocheting, hand embroidery, pen & ink, colored pencil, acrylic, and oil painting.
