For all practical purposes, Jamie does not consider herself an artist. In 1989, she graduated Magna Cum Laude from Texas A&M University with a degree in Marketing. Jamie had a very successful career in the energy business, and now raises beef cattle on a farm in Crockett, Texas.

Largely self-taught, Jamie prefers to work with oils and mixed media. She doesn't wat to be constrained by one medium, but lets the subject inspire the medium. "When I paint, the world around me goes away and I am total at peace with myself. That, as well as having gone through many life tragedies is why I paint," says Johnson. She uses a variety of techniques and rich color to display simple things in a unique way. "I would like my art to make you think or tel a story, or maybe inspire you to make up a story about what is happening in the painting," says Johnson.

Her subjects come from life and the love of family. She works daily on the farm, loves traveling, exploring new wideries and relaxing at her lake house.
